Hello ladies and gentlemen, Lex Cove is the name and concert going is the game. First-time blogger, long time music lover, and I am ecstatic to be attending Elon this fall with you guys! I’m from a small town right outside of Princeton, New Jersey and plan on majoring in communications of some sorts.
Now you’re not really from Jersey unless you start your summer off at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ. This past weekend I was lucky enough to do just that when I went to the Nobody Safe Tour in which Future, Migos, and Tory Lanez all performed. Kodak Black (my 13-year-old sister’s favorite artist) was supposed to be there too, but ya know, he’s in jail. Now, to be honest with you guys, I’m not exactly the biggest rap listener out there-it’s just not my cup of tea-but despite all that, I still had the time of my life.
The energy from each of the artists was electric and really pumped up the crowd for the entire concert, something that isn’t easy to do. Especially when Future brought out a surprise guest, Meek Mill, to perform with him. Throughout the night, there were certain songs where everybody in the audience moved together as one giant crowd. One of the first songs we heard that night was Tory Lanez Shabba Rank Freestyle. You could literally see every single person in the audience singing along and jump all in sync. It was absolutely insane. Migos’ big hit for the night was “Bad and Boujee,” a song even I know the words to.
Future as a rapper is not my favorite, I find his style odd and not that enjoyable; but, again, the way he feeds off the crowd’s energy and the way they feed off him made his performance intense and so much fun. He continuously pumped the audience up. When he sang songs like “Mask Off” and “Jumpman” there was nobody not moving along. All in all, it was a great concert and I recommend it even to those of you, like me, who aren’t into rap but are looking for a fun time.
